Here we cover all the off road riding skills you will need to be the first to the pub on a trail ride with your mates or win an AORC round! We also split these courses into groups of beginner s and intermediate levels and also have kids groups where required. We offer 1 and 2 day private small group session’s which can be from Basic to Advanced level on a charter basis POA at our venue or yours!

The Academy of Off Road Riding has been in operation since 1978 and enjoys the support of Yamaha Motor Australia who support safe and sustainable off road motorcycle riding.
Definitely not, we cater for all brands of bikes. In fact Yamaha Motor Australia like the fact we are not “preaching to the converted”, you can even experience a test ride on the awesome WRF 250 and WRF 450F if you ask nicely!
Lyndon Heffernan is the head coach and business principal, Heffo is multi time Australian MX champion has ridden MX and Supercross extensively here and in Europe and also ridden the A4DE, ISDE as well as Finke and Hattah Desert races and has decades of off road and coaching experience, including national elite training camps at the AIS for Motorcycling Australia.
Our two- day course is ideal for those who have limited riding experience, maybe you are making the transition from asphalt to dirt, or for those beginning their dirt bike journey or taking up riding again after a long layoff due to kids, business etc or your mates have got dirt bikes and you want to join in on the fun.
The course is aimed at beginner to intermediate skill level, note that advanced and first timer training Is offered by small group or private tuition by appointment please enquire by email if you would like to know more.

The purposed built facility is approximately 23 km west of Batemans Bay and is accessible by council gravel roads, travel instructions are sent upon entry.
Our purpose- built off road training facility offers all the obstacles and terrain you will find when you want to hot the track or trails, we have two user friendly grass tracks and a jumpy MX track plus gravel, sand, hills and water crossings, plus an epic camping and skills area and great amenities
The Academy used only experienced expert off road trainers who have spent years off road racing, riding and coaching! Our accredited coaches will show, explain and coach each rider, your technique and skill will improve to inspire you to the next level of confidence.
We cover all the essential core skills to take tackle the track or trails. Including weight distribution, control use and line selection, and braking, cornering, flat, off camber, ruts and berms plus hills, recovery techniques as well as rollovers, jumps, water crossings and sand.
2 days of expert trail and enduro bike specific tuition and coaching
2 nights camping at our unique and beautiful riverside location, BBQ facilities, hot showers and flushing toilets!
We will supply drinking water, please bring a re-usable water bottle or Camelbak or similar hydration system.
You must bring own bike, riding gear, as bike hire is not included.
NOTE – the. Motorcycling Australia one event license (insurance) is not included, so if you don’t hold a Motorcycling Australia licence you will need to pay the additional fee.
You must bring your own lunch, breakfast and dinner, drinks, and snacks.
If you are camping at site then you will also need to bring all your own camping equipment and be there before dark to allow for easy navigation, and camp set-up.
If not camping at site, then you will need to organise your own accommodation.
Bookings are essential and numbers are limited, to book a place you will need to use our online entry system.
Upon entry an email confirmation is sent to all entrants which is includes detailed course attendee information and travel instructions.
Additionally; a final instructions is issued Wednesday night preceding the course with latest weather forecast and latest road conditions and up to date travel advice.
There is no shop or fuel on site; as a guide a full tank and a spare 10 litres is more than enough to complete the course for those bring the bikes by ute or trailer. If you are riding in then at least ¾ of a tank to allow you to complete the course and return to Batemans Bay, Mogo or Braidwood.
It is a good idea to get a qualified or experienced person to check over your bike before attending to ensure it will get you through the course, items like chains and sprockets, brake pads, air filter recent service and adequate tyres and pressures!
